Exoray's
Gun/Wand Instructions

These instructions are rough, a quick and dirty, when I have more time I will refine
them and sorts... But for now they should do and give you a good start on installing the kit...

This is Christphern's vision of the light and switch locations and function,
and is what I based my kit design on, thanks for the help Chris!

**You can also move LEDs and Switches around for custom configurations**

LED PLACEMENT

Thanks to Venkman71, for the use of this image!

Now the quick and dirty on the LEDs

LED 0 ~ Safety disengaged warning light, Yellow switch...

LED 1 ~ Static light that comes on with the bargraph, Blue switch...

LED 2 ~ Blinking light, turns solid when safety disengaged, Purple switch... (optional keep blinking except when firing)

LED 3 ~ Static light that comes on with the Purple switch...

LED 4 ~ Static light that comes on with the Purple switch...

LED 5 & 6 ~ Behind the grill lights, Purple switch...

SWITCH PLACEMENT

Thanks to Venkman71, for the use of this image!

Now the quick and dirty on the Switches...

Orange Switch ~ This is the "Flash" switch, it activates a unique three burst barrel LED effect...

Purple Switch ~ This is a "Power" on/off, it turns on LEDs 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6...

Blue Switch ~ This is a "Power" on/off, it activates the bargraph, turns on LED 1, as well as triggers the start-up sound... In the deluxe model it also activates the the pack lights...

Yellow Switch ~ This is the "Safety", it turns on LED 0  as well as stops the blinking on LED 2 to show that the safety is disengaged and the gun is ready to fire...

Red Switch ~ This is the "Fire" switch, it activates the bargraph firing effect, the barrel firing LEDs as well as triggers the fire sound... Note that the this switch will not work until the safety is disengaged... After 30 seconds of continous fire the switch will again deactivate for 15 seconds a cool down stage...

*Green Switch ~ Deluxe kit or add on, this is the switch for turning on my pack light kit, there is a jumper location on my pack light boards that this plugs into...  This will then allow you to switch on the pack lights in sync with the wand/gun lights...  Note, the pack lights still need their own battery power, and any existing switch on the pack light kit should be turned to the OFF position or removed...

Plug Locations For LEDs and Switches

Above is the lower main board, the plug locations are just under
the upper daughter board... For the LEDs the black wire should be
towards the TOP (up) for polarity!

And here is the upper daughter board, the plug locations are pretty
straight foward...  For the LEDs the black wire should be facing
LEFT or DOWN depending on the orientation of the plug!

Also note there are four *extra* LED locations on the upper daughter
board, one is a blinking light that is out of phase with the other
blinking light and also is not affected by the safety switch, it blinks
constant until you fire then it goes solid...  This position is good to use
if you decide to bypass the safety feature by using a jumper but still
want a blinking light...  There is also and *extra* location that lights
when the gun is firing, as well as an alternative (blinking) LED ~ 2 location
and alternative LED ~ 3 location...

Above is the ribbon cable going to the bargraph... There are two additional
LED locations on this cable as well, they are both the same and controlled by
the Blue Switch...  LED ~ 1 should be attached here, for polarity the black wire
should be UP or towards the middle of the cable...  Also the unused plug should
be wrapped with some electrical tape to avoid shorting out as it's loose...

IMPORTANT ALL LED TAKE OFFS ON BOTH BOARDS ARE A FULL 5 VOLTS!
THEY HAVE NO CURRENT LIMITING... LIMITING IS BUILT INTO THE LED
WIRING HARNESS, SO IF YOU USE YOUR OWN LEDS THEN YOU WILL NEED TO USE AN IN SERIES RESISTOR TO SLOW THE CURRENT!

For Deluxe Kit or Battery Pack Add On that
interfaces with my pack light kit pictured below

This is where you plug in the Green Switch in so that the pack lights turn on
in sync with the gun lights... Note the pack light kit still needs it's own power
source and any existing switch should be removed or turned to the
OFF position for this to work correctly...

Firing and Bargraph Effects Selection
For Dip Switch located on main board

To change between firing pattern and bargraph pattern effects,
simply power down and back on...

 OR

Fire the wand/gun and it will shift to the new effect...  Remeber to
fire the gun you have to also disengage the safety switch...

Firing Effect #1
Firing Effect #2
Firing Effect #3
Firing Effect #4
Random Up ~ Random Down
Random Up ~ Full Down
Full Up ~ Full Down

Random Up ~ 7/8 Down

Vibration Module Settings, For Dip Switch on Vibration Module

**Position #4 on the Vibration Dip Switch is master on/off**

Vibration motor #1 on when powerup, Purple Switch...
Vibration motor #2 on when firing, Red Switch...
Vibration motor #1 and #2 on when powerup, Purple Switch...
Vibration motor #1 and #2 on when firing, Red Switch...

Bargraph Speed

 or

The speed of the bargraph is user adjustable, simple turn the potentionmeter,
that looks like one of the two above, to the speed you desire...

Bargraph Orientation

Two legs of the bargraph have black heat shrink on them, this is the BOTTOM
of the bargraph, it also shows polarity when removing and re-installing the
bargraph into the ribbon cable these marked legs go towards the "red" wire
on the ribbon cable...  Care should be taken when removing and re-installing
the bargraph it's a little trickey to get back in but with a little patience it
can be done   use a toothpick or other fine object to guide the legs back
into the ribbon cable one at a time...
